(Press Release) Salt Lake City, April 28, 2016 – Cutt, Kendell & Olson announced a unanimous jury verdict on April 22, 2016 in favor of its client in the case of Yates v. Edmonds, heard before the Third Judicial District Court of Salt Lake County, Utah.
The plaintiff, Michael Yates, was awarded $613,924, an amount that includes all of the past and future medical expenses and lost wages claimed by Mr. Yates, as well as an additional compensation for general damages of $350K. The verdict was reached following a four-hour jury deliberation and a four-day trial where the defendant contested both liability and damages. The jury found the defendant 100% at fault.
Mr. Yates, who suffered his injuries due to a car accident caused by a negligent driver, was represented by Cutt, Kendell & Olson attorney Jordan P. Kendell.
“We were privileged to represent Mr. Yates, a hardworking man whose quality of life was dramatically impaired by this incident,” said Mr. Kendell. “As is our customary approach, we went through a thorough, empirically-based review of all the facts of the case, and from that we were able to secure a just verdict for him, one that will enable him to move forward with dignity.”
