Polaris Recalls RZR Recreational Off-Highway Vehicles Because of a Fire Hazard

|

On October 6, 2015, Polaris issued a recall indicating that the fuel tank vent line on some of its 2015 recreational off-highway vehicles (“ROV”) can be misrouted, causing it to become pinched. According to the recall notice, this can cause the fuel tank to pressurize and leak fuel, posing a fire hazard. The recall affects about 53,000 units and includes the model year 2015 Polaris RZR ROV model numbers RZR 900, RZR S 900, RZR 900 XC, RZR 4 900, RZR XP 1000, and RZR XP4 1000. According to the recall notice, Polaris has received four reports of RZR 900s with fuel leaks and two reports of the ROVs catching on fire, one of which included a burn injury. The recall notice further indicates that the company received 25 reports of RZR 1000s with fuel leaks. A complete list of the recalled vehicles, including VINs, is available at www.polaris.com.
